Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto took a major step in his career Sunday night (January 12) by winning the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama for "Dallas Buyers Club." His transformative role as Rayon captivated viewers and critics, though turns out it may not have been as transformative as we believed.
"I'd like to use this opportunity to clear up a few things," Leto said, taking the stage to accept the award. "I did not ever use any prosthetics in this film. That tiny little Brazilian bubble butt was all mine."
That's not all, though. "One of the things I did was wax my entire body, including my eyebrows," Leto continued. "I'm just fortunate that it wasn't a period piece, so I didn't have to do full Brazilian. Ladies you know what I'm talking about, and so do some of you men, I think."
Joking aside, possibly even happier than Leto were his 20STM fans, aka the Echelon:
So is an Oscar in Leto's future? His Globes win certainly puts him on the road, but only time will tell.
"This is incredible," Leto said in closing. "I didn't make a film for almost six years. I was pursuing other dreams, and I just have to say, it's more than an honor to come back and have this love and this support. I never expected it; I never even dreamed of it. And to the Rayons of the world, thanks for the inspiration."
